Home selection...

Who is eligible for Rebuilding Together Washtenaw services?

You may be eligible if you meet the following criteria:

  • You live within the Ann Arbor, Dexter, Manchester, or Ypsilanti school districts.
  • You are low-income, elderly or someone with a disability.
  • You are the owner of the property.

What are the responsibilities of the homeowners who are being helped?

We are proud to work with people, not for people. Homeowners and family members who are able-bodied are expected to work alongside volunteers.

How are the homes selected?

Various individuals, churches, community organizations and service groups refer houses to Rebuilding Together Washtenaw. A work scope visit is made by a skilled trades person. A committee ultimately makes the determination as to whether or not the house meets the eligibility criteria. In the selection process, priority is given to low-income, elderly persons who cannot maintain their homes and have no family members to help them.

If you would like to refer a home to Rebuilding Together Washtenaw, please complete a Home Referral form. Contact names and mailing addresses for each community are listed on the form. Individual homeowners may request our services by letter or telephone.
